PMDC CELEBRATES 23rd ANNIVERSARY, REINFORCES COMMITMENT TO RESPONSIBLE MINING

Date: July 6, 2026

PASIG CITY – The Philippine Mining Development Corporation marked its 23rd anniversary on 06 July 2026 at the Tektite Towers Auditorium in Pasig City, bringing together its Board of Directors, management and personnel, government partners, partner-operators, and key stakeholders to celebrate more than two decades of responsible mineral resource development.

In his welcome remarks, PMDC President & CEO Atty. Job Adrian M. Ambrosio emphasized that the Corporation’s priority is to transform its mineral assets into sustainable value for the government, host communities, and the Filipino people through active projects, capable partners, sound governance, and disciplined management.

He announced PMDC’s plan to bid out selected mining tenements in the fourth quarter of 2026 to attract qualified partners while ensuring that the State, local governments, and host communities receive their fair share of the benefits. He also acknowledged the continued support of Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG), Office of the Government Corporate Counsel (OGCC), Commission on Audit (COA), and PMDC’s local government and industry partners.

PMDC Chairperson Julinette M. Bayking welcomed the event’s keynote speaker, DENR Secretary Juan Miguel T. Cuna, who reaffirmed PMDC’s vital role as the government’s corporate arm for mining development.

Secretary Cuna emphasized that responsible mining requires strong collaboration among government agencies, local governments, indigenous communities, industry, and development partners, and encouraged PMDC to continue advancing technically sound, environmentally responsible, socially responsive, and commercially viable projects that strengthen public trust in the Philippine mining sector.

The celebration was attended by members of the PMDC Board of Directors, senior officials from the DENR, MGB, NCIP, OGCC, PNOC, NDC, MinDA, local government units, and numerous partner-operators. Their strong participation underscored the broad support for PMDC’s renewed direction and reflected the growing confidence of both government and industry in the Corporation’s leadership and its role as the government’s lead institution for responsible and sustainable mineral resource development.

As PMDC enters its 24th year, the Corporation remains committed to developing the country’s mineral resources responsibly, creating opportunities for host communities, protecting the environment, and contributing to national economic growth.
