DINAGAT ISLANDS July 23, 2026 — The Philippine Mining Development Corporation (PMDC) has taken another major step toward responsible and inclusive mineral development with the signing of a Community Cooperation, Local Preference, and Project Access Agreement with the Kalihukan sa Panaad Multipurpose Cooperative (KSPMC).
Signed by PMDC Vice President for Operations Engr. Marites M. Reotutar, representing President and CEO Atty. Job Adrian M. Ambrosio, and KSPMC Manager Aljay E. Marayan, the agreement strengthens cooperation between PMDC and the host community and lays the foundation for transparent, sustainable, and mutually beneficial mineral development in Dinagat Islands.
The partnership promotes local employment, procurement, livelihood opportunities, and meaningful community participation while establishing clear mechanisms for environmental protection, project access, community consultation, and grievance resolution.
More than a memorandum, the agreement reflects a shared commitment to ensure that the benefits of responsible mining are felt by the communities that host the country’s mineral resources.
The name Kalihukan sa Panaad, which translates to “a movement bound by a promise,” embodies the cooperative’s dedication to community progress—a vision that aligns closely with PMDC’s mission of “Creating Wealth. Enriching Lives.”
With this landmark partnership, PMDC reaffirms that responsible mining is not simply about extracting minerals—it is about creating jobs, empowering communities, protecting the environment, and transforming the nation’s mineral wealth into lasting opportunities for the Filipino people.
