Philippine Mining Development Corporation (PMDC) President and CEO Job Adrian M. Ambrosio paid a courtesy visit to Iligan City Mayor Frederick W. Siao in connection with PMDC’s Rogongon Gold-Copper Project.
During the meeting, President Ambrosio assured Mayor Siao that PMDC will maintain close coordination with the City Government of Iligan as the project moves forward. He emphasized PMDC’s commitment to transparent and inclusive engagement, particularly with the Indigenous Peoples (IPs) and communities within and around the project area.
President Ambrosio also stressed that PMDC will ensure that the concerns and perspectives of all affected IP groups are heard and properly considered throughout the process.
Recognizing the environmental sensitivity of mining activities, PMDC likewise committed to strict compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, and safeguards. President Ambrosio emphasized that environmental protection, responsible mine planning, and disaster-risk prevention will be integral to the development of the Rogongon Gold-Copper Project.
The visit forms part of PMDC’s continuing efforts to work closely with local governments, Indigenous Peoples, communities, and other stakeholders in advancing responsible and sustainable mineral resource development.
